Hydrastis canadensis Goldenseal aka Yellow Root, Tumeric Root, Eye Balm   Northeastern United States Rhizomatous perennial of hardwood forests and riversides.   White, solitary flowers subtended by a single leaf - Develops into a red berry.           Considered a threatened species in Michigan.
