Annual of disturbed soils.
 
Flower heads are without ray flowers consisting only of greenish-yellow disk flowers massed into a cone shaped head.
 
Leaves are finely dissected.
 

 

This is the source of oil of chamomile which is used to add an apple-like fragrance to perfumes, cosmetics and tobacco blends.
