  • 'Kwanzan' - double (30 petals), deep pink, pendulous flowers, borne on a small tree - upright when young to rounded later - early leaves are a copper-bronze color and turn green later
  • 'Shirofugen' - often called 'White Goddess' - double pink flowers which quickly fade to white - young foliage is bronze, turning to green
  • 'Shirotae' - double or semidouble white - name means “snow white” - flowers are fragrant - petals (about 12) are slightly ruffled at the edges
  • 'Shogetsu' - pale pink, often with a white center, either semidouble or double and with about 30 petals
  • 'Sieboldii' (Named for plant explorer, Philip von Siebold) - double, pink flowered was considered a species, but reclassified as a variety of P. serrulata
  • 'Ulon' - pendulous semidouble flowers are a very pale yellow - young foliage bronze as the leaves begin to unfurl
