Climbing annual
 
Leaves of many colors, each with 5 petals. The fruit is a schizocarp.
 
 
 

  • 'Alaska Mixed' - 12 inches tall with flowers produced in several bright colors.

  • 'Jewel of Africa' - climber that grows to 6 feet, has flowers in various bright colors and variegated green and cream foliage.

  • 'Empress of India' - compact dwarf form grows to 10 inches tall and has velvety flowers of deep crimson red above foliage of dark blue green edged with red.

  • 'Salmon Baby' - 10-12 inches tall with fringed flowers in shades of deep salmon pink.

  • 'Strawberries and Cream' - 8-10 inches tall and has semi-double flowers, pale yellow with a red spot at the base of each petal

  • 'Whirlybird Cherry' - 12 inches tall and have semi-double flowers without spurs which face upwards and are held up above the low mounds of foliage

Young leaves and flower petals are used to flavor canapés and salads.
