Spreading shrub to small tree.
15 to 20 feet high
White flowers about 1/4 inch in diameter.
 
Alternate, simple, obovate to oblong, evergreen to deciduous depending on location, 1/2 to 2” long, about half as wide.
Red to crimson.
 
Exfoliating.
 
 
Members of the genus, Vaccinium, generally need an acid soil in the range of pH 4.5 to 5.5 to thrive.
