Upright habit with spikelike racemes
10-36 inches tall and a spread of 18-24 inches
Blue flowers are borne in dense, terminal racemes pedicels are shorter than the bracts and calyx.
 
Opposite, oblong to lanceolate, to 2 inches long, tapering base, crenate to serrulate margin, except entire at base and apex.
 
 
  • var. alba - Pure white flower form
  • 'Blue Fox' - Lavender-blue flowers on 15-20 inches tall stems.
  • 'Blue Peter' - 18-24 inches tall, well-branched plant, with deep blue flowers.
  • 'Blue Spires' - Blue flowers and glossy green leaves, 18-24 inches tall.
  • 'Heidekind' - Rose-pink flowers on 8-10 inches tall plants.
  • 'Icicle' - White flowers 18-24 inches tall Flowers most of summer.
  • 'Red Fox' - Rose-pink flowers are carried on stems 15 inches tall. Remains in bloom for 5-6 weeks.
