Upright, straggly shrub.
8 to 10 feet
Pink in bud before white flowers open on 2 to 3 inch wide cymbs. Flowers are very fragrant

Opposite, simple, oblong to ovate, 1 1/2 to 4” long, 3/4 to 1 3/4” wide. Smaller, glossier leaves then V. carlessii, are evergreen in mild climates.
Reddish.
 
 
Red drupes changing to black.
 
 
  • 'Anne Russell' - Compact form grows 6 feet tall.
  • 'Chenaultii' - Smaller leaves.
  • 'Fullbrook' - Large, sweet scented flowers.
Originated in the nursery of Burkwood and Skipworth, Kingston-on-Thames, England.
