We throw around a lot of terminology in horticulture and often take it for granted that all gardeners understand. Since it is our goal at PlantsGalore.Com to help the backyard gardener, we have tried to put together a bunch of practical definitions for many of the terms we use.

We have organized horticulture and gardening terms in alphabetical order. If the topic needs a bit of space to explain properly, we have also added a glossary page with an expanded explanation of the topic. For instance, the term "fertilizer" can be explained in a sentence or two but, a more thorough description takes at least a couple of pages.
