Hosta 'Academy Dimholt'

This medium size (18 inches high by 42 inches wide), medium green colored cultivar is a seedling of an H. 'Ginko Craig' F1 seedling. It was registered in 2005 by Steve Chamberlain of New York. The broadly ovate leaves are slightly corrugated, slightly rippled and moderately flat. Pale lavender flowers bloom in August on scapes 19 to 22 inches tall.

The registration materials state: "...dull-leafed, medium sized, mound-like green hosta with conical flowers on short scapes."

J.R.R. Tolkien reference: The Dimholt literally means "dark wood" and is situated at the base of the Dwimorberg mountain.
