Hosta 'Amber Waves of Grain'

This seedling of an H. 'Dorothy Benedict' seedling was registered by Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan in 2003. It is a large size plant about 23 inches high by 40 inches wide with green foliage that has a gold colored marginal variegation. The leaves are moderately rippled, broadly ovate and have a thin bloom on the bottom. Pale lavender flowers bloom from July into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...ranks as one of Ed Elslager's best introduction...has more of a H. montana look."
