Hosta 'American Tisch Breeder'

A sport of a seedling of H. 'Tokudama', this cultivar was originated by Van Wade of Wade and Gatton Nursery (Closed 2019) of Ohio but registered by Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan in 2002. It is a medium to large size plant with blue-green foliage that is heavily streaked. The leaves are heavily corrugated and have thick substance. Near white flowers bloom from June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Despite being a descendant of a 'Tokudama'-type, the overall size is something between a Tokudama and a Sieboldiana. The word "Tisch"...honors Roland Tisch, a Michigan nurseryman."
