Hosta 'Blaugold'

Peter Ruh registered this Hosta sieboldiana seedling in 1991. The 22 inch high and 41 inch wide mound has oblong-ovate leaves that are deeply lobed at the base with slight ripples on the margins. Its pale purple flowers bloom in late July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...the number of vein pairs (fewer), flower color (more lavender), and flowering period (much later) indicate a hybrid background."

These 2010 photos come from the Ralph (Herb) and Dorothy Benedict Hosta Hillside, tours and vendors at the 2010 American Hosta Society National Convention in Minnesota, Wade and Gatton Nursery and Arboretum, Toledo Botanical Garden and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
