Hosta 'Butternut Hill'

Registered in 2001 by Peter and Jean Ruh on behalf of Englerth Gardens, this plant is a self-pollinated seedling of the species, Hosta hypoleuca. The mound is medium sized (17 inches high) with shiny green foliage that emerges gold in the spring. Flowers are pale lavender in late July to August.

It was crossed with H. 'Chartreuse Wedge' by Clarence Owens to produce H. 'Green Dragonet'.

Seedlings include H. 'Bases Loaded' and H. 'Butter Cream'.
