Oops! Sure looks as if this big blue
hosta is labeled as H. 'Emerald Wave' (It should be 'Emerald
Waves'). Unfortunately, the actual 'Emerald Waves'
is an 8 inch high mound with lance shaped leaves. We will try to get a
true picture next summer.
H. 'Emerald Waves'
is the result of a cross of
H. nakaiana x H. 'Green Smash'. It is a non-registered cultivar from
Wm Zumbar of Ohio
which forms a small size mound only 8 inches high and 21 inches wide.
It has elliptic to lance shaped leaves and purple flowers in
July.
