Hosta 'Equoia'

Registered by Dr. Doug Beilstein and Mardy Beilstein of Ohio in 2022, this large size (22 inches high by 50 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Brutus' × H. montana macrophylla. It has blue-green foliage and the broadly ovate leaves are slightly rippled, slightly twisted, slightly shiny on top and moderately corrugated. From late June into July, medium lavender flowers bloom on scapes up to 48 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "Sibling of H. 'Sequoia' with imposing H. sieboldiana type leaves having prominent veins, puckering and some overlapping at the base.  Numerous lavender flowers make for a bee mecca....."
