This cultivar was jointly registered in 1989 by Dr. Jim Wilkins and Clarence Owens of Michigan as a sport of H. 'Golden Fascination'. It is a medium size plant with pale lavender flowers from mid-July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Don't underestimate this plant. At maturity, 'Fascination' offers attractive, gold-centered foliage."
