Hosta 'Fond Farewell'

A seedling of H. 'Fond Hope', this cultivar was registered by Ed Schulz of Iowa in 2002 and re-registered with new data in 2018. It is a large size plant about 24 inches high by 50 inches wide with slightly blue-green foliage. The leaves are broadly ovate, slightly rippled, moderately wavy and slightly rippled. Pure white flowers bloom on scapes 24 to 32 inches tall from late June into July followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...similar to parent; larger mound and leaf has unusual gray cast..."

The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009) says, "The blue color lasts well into mid-July in Iowa."
