Hosta 'Gelber Kaiser Han Wu Di'

Originated by Dr. Hans Simon of Gärtnerei Simon in Germany, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage although it is an H. 'Sieboldiana'-type plant. It is a large size plant about 23 inches tall with yellow foliage. The flowers are bright purple and funnel-shaped.

According to the article in The Gesellshaft der Staudenfreunde webiste, "The varieties H. 'Gelbe Kaiserstandarte', H. 'Gelber Kaiser Han Wu Di' and H. 'Konkubine Ersten Ranges' are assigned to the species H. 'Sieboldiana'. They come from the garden of Mrs. Marianne Beuchert, she got it from the then (80s) two Botanical Gardens of Beijing."
