Hosta
'Gilt Edge'

This hosta was labeled 'Tompkin's Gilt Edge' which is an older, incorrect name used for 'Gilt Edge'.

A sport of an H. 'Sieboldiana' hybrid, this cultivar was introduced by Chet Tompkins of Oregon and was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 2002. This plant forms a large size (26 inches high) mound of 'Elegans' type foliage that is heavily corrugated and has thick substance. Near white flowers bloom from mid-June into July.

The specimen shown above looks as if it is a 'Gilt Edge' which has reverted to the all-blue-green form of H. 'Sieboldiana'.
