Hosta 'Golden Great Expectations'

This tissue culture sport of H. 'Great Expectations' is a non-registered cultivar from Mark Zilis of Illinois. It is a medium size plant that grows about 10 inches high with a spread of 27 inches. The foliage emerges in the spring as very light yellow and may turn whitish as the season progresses. It bears near white, bell-shaped flowers on 33 inch scapes from late June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "This plant should be thought of as more of an experiment than a serious effort to introduce a new cultivar...even if grown under heavy shade, it melts out by the middle of July."
