Hosta 'Hime Yakushima'

Originated in Japan, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage but has H. sieboldii spathulata in its background. The Hostlists.org website describes this as a good hosta for a trough garden which should indicate that it is a miniature or small size plant.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...I've never seen any plant labeled that."

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term hime as small, mini, dwarf or princess.
