Hosta sieboldii forma spathulata

This form of the species, Hosta sieboldii, comes directly from its native Japan. The small size, 9 inch high mound spreads to 22 inches in width. It produces medium purple flowers in early August.

Similar cultivars include H. 'Humor' and H. 'Saishu Jima'.

This plant may have been sold as 'Mackwoods No. 34'. It is also known as H. sieboldii 'Viridis' or just 'Viridis'.
