Hosta 'Ice King'

Registered by Charles Kwick of Wisconsin in 2019, this upright and slow growing, small size (6 inches high by 14 inches wide) cultivar is a sport of H. 'Dream Queen'. This dark green hosta has a narrow white medial (center) variegation.

The broadly ovate leaves are slightly rippled at the margins, dull on top, moderately twisted and slightly corrugated. Near white flowers with "nearly imperceptible" lavender stripes bloom in July on scapes about 19 inches tall. It sets seeds but their viability was not determined at the time of registration.

The registration materials state: "...Bright white center runs all the way down the petiole while the dark green margins run down the outside of this petit sport."
