Hosta 'Joshua's Banner'

Dr. Lloyd (Gil) Jones of Michigan developed this hybrid of H. 'Christmas Tree' × H. 'Sun Power' in 1997 and it was registered on his behalf by Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. 'Joshua's Banner' starts the season with a chartreuse leaf having a narrow white margin but later, the center of the leaf turns more gold in color. The heavily rippled foliage of this cultivar forms a medium size hosta about 18 inches high by 47 inches wide clump. It bears pale purple flowers in July.

Similar cultivars include H. 'American Dream' and H. 'Sweetie'.
