This cultivar is a hybrid of H. nakaiama which is a non-registered hosta originated by Lucille Simpers of Indiana. It has yellow leaves which turn green as the summer progresses and bears purple flowers.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "This cultivar is probably the same as 'Salem'."
