Hosta sieboldiana 'Mira'

This form of the species Hosta sieboldiana came from Japan and was registered by the American Hosta Society on behalf of Fumio Maekawa in 2002. As with others of this type, it forms a giant (32 inches high) mound with leaves that are slightly wavy and have slight corrugation with thick substance. Three foot tall scapes bear very pale lavender flowers in late June to mid July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...comes closest of all Hosta sieboldiana forms to the species itself."

Similar cultivars include H. 'Jolly Green Giant', H. 'June Beauty' and H. sieboldiana var. sieboldiana.

Seedlings include H. 'Big John', H. 'Blackjack', and H. 'Silver Giant'.
