Hosta 'Montreal'

This medium size cultivar is probably a hybrid of H. rectifolia x H. ventricosa and it was registered by Le Jardin botanique de Montreal in 1983. Formerly known as H. montrealensis or H. 'Japonica Blue', it forms a medium size hosta about 17 inches high by 44 inches wide. The leaves have thin substance, are slightly corrugated and have slightly wavy margins. It bears medium purple flowers in August.

Similar cultivars include H. 'Lancifolia', H. 'Sentinels' and H. 'Vilmoriniana'.
