Hosta 'Platinum Tiara'

This tissue culture sport of H. 'Golden Tiara' was registered by Walters Gardens, Inc. of Michigan in 1987. The dense, medium size (11 inches high) hosta may be used for edging or a low growing groundcover like others of the Tiara Group.   Its foliage is ovate shaped, slightly corrugated and of thin substance. Pale purple flowers bloom from mid-July into August.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Slower growing than many other hostas in the Tiara Series, making it an ideal pot plant. Winner of the 1989 Alex J. Summers Distinguished Merit Hosta Award."
