Hosta 'Rowan My Boat'

Originated by Dr. Doug and Mardy Beilstein of Ohio and registered in 2018, this cultivar with very blue-green foliage A hybrid of a seedling of (H. 'Butternut Hill' x H. 'Azure Snow') × H. 'Treasure Island', it is a medium to large size (14 inches high by 31 inches wide) plant. The leaves are elliptical, deeply folded, moderately corrugated and have a glaucous bloom on top. Medium lavender flowers on scapes 22 to 24 inches tall bloom from late June into July followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...Emerges with a strong blue, mirror-like reflective surface that then becomes slightly puckered and folded (like a boat shape). The name 'Rowan My Boat' fits perfectly...Leaves emerge shiny before developing their glaucous coating later..."

This is named for the originators' grandson.
