Hosta 'Rumor Has It'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. Neither is registered with The American Hosta Society. The first one to be registered would become the "official" hosta of that name and the other would have to be renamed.

Originated by Matt Sanford of Connecticut, this non-registered cultivar of unidentified parentage. It is a medium size hosta with dark green foliage that has a light green medial (center) variegation.

This cultivar won the 2016 William and Eleanor Lachman Award at the First Look hosta competition as the best seedling as chosen by the AHS Judges. It also won the Mildred Seaver Award at the First Look hosta competition as the best seedling as chosen by the Attendees. This fast growing, non-registered cultivar is from Jim Spence of Canada. It is listed on the MyHosta database as being a hybrid of H. 'Pinstripe Sister' × (H. 'Don's Pie Extreme' which is a seedling of H. 'Donahue Piecrust' × H. 'Niagara Falls'). The leaves are piecrust in shape and the foliage is green and has streaked variegation.
