Hosta 'Shawmut'

A sport of H. 'Allen C. Haskell', this cultivar was registered by Alex Malloy of New York in 1999. It grows into a medium size hosta about 17 inches in height and a width of 44 inches. The leaves are broadly ovate, moderately corrugated with bloom on the underside. Its lavender flowers bloom in July.

"Shawmut" is a term derived from the Algonquian Tribe word Mashauwomuk referring to the region of present-day Boston.
