Hosta 'Sitting Pretty'

A cross of H. 'Reiko' x H. 'Amy Aden', this small size cultivar was registered by Paul Aden in 1987. It only grows about 6 inches high and 18 inches wide. The leaves are slightly rippled and mildly corrugated. Its medium purple flowers bloom in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...ranks as one of the best small-sized, white-centered cultivars ever introduced...has a good growth rate, and produces flowers in neat proportion to the mound...a plant reputed to be a larger version of 'Sitting Pretty' has been dubbed 'Standing Pretty'..."

Similar cultivars include Hosta pulchella 'Variegata'.

Sports include H. 'Froggy', H. 'Junior Miss' and H. 'Lookin' Pretty'.
