Hosta 'Sutter's Mill'

Originated by Bob Balitewicz of Indiana and registered on his behalf by AHS/G. H. Alley in 2020, this upright, large size (25 inches high by 50 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'High Noon' × H. 'Big John'. The broadly ovate foliage is strong yellow green (144A RHS Colour Chart) in color and is slightly cupped, moderately corrugated, dull on top with deeply impressed veins. Near white flowers with pale lavender interior stripes bloom in June on scapes 24 to 34 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...Very large, bright chartreuse to gold leaves held proudly upright with deeply impressed veins and nice corrugation.  Twenty to thirty seed pods per each scape...turns more yellow as the season progresses."
