Hosta 'Sweet Innocence'

This tetraploid sport of H. 'Fragrant Bouquet' is a non-registered cultivar from Hans Hansen of Minnesota. A medium size (12 inches high by 24 inches wide) plant with fragrant, lavender flowers that bloom in August but rarely sets seeds.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Superb in containers placed where the fragrance can be enjoyed, although this is less apparent in cool climates...Leaf substance is greater, margins are wider and better defined, and pest resistance is greater than its parent."

Similar cultivars include H. 'Crystal Moon' and H. 'Winter Bouquet' .

These 2010 photos were taken at the Ralph (Herb) and Dorothy Benedict Hosta Hillside in Michigan, tours and vendors at The American Hosta Society National Convention in Minnesota, Wade and Gatton Nursery and Wade Botanical Gardens in Ohio, Toledo Botanical Garden and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
