Hosta 'Tappan Zee'

This sport of H. 'Electrum Stater' was registered by Alex Malloy of New York in 2004. The medium size plant has chartreuse colored foliage with a yellow marginal variegation. During the season, the color changes to a dark green with a creamy white marginal variegation. The leaves have thick substance. Very pale lavender flowers bloom from late June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...exhibits traits typical of tetraploid hostas."

The Hosta Journal (2018 Vol. 49 No. R) states that this cultivar was originally registered as 'Tappen Zee' which was a typographical error that has now been corrected.
