Hosta 'Tara'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. Neither are currently registered with The American Hosta Society. The first one to be registered would become the "official" hosta of that name and the others would have to be renamed.

Randy Goodwin of Indiana registered this seedling of H. 'Sea Prize' in 2000. It grows into a small size hosta about 9 inches high by 18 inches wide with ovate, slightly wavy foliage. The pale lavender flowers bloom in July.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Tara' (Goodwin).

The "fictional character" in this case is the house.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), Peter Ruh originated another hosta by this name which Mark Zilis observed in the 1990s. It was a small size hosta with narrow, green foliage.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Tara' (Ruh).
