Registered by Richard and Mary Ford of England in 2009, this cultivar is a sport of H. 'Rippled Honey'. It is a small size plant about 9 inches high by 25 inches wide with medium green foliage that has a pale yellow marginal variegation. The leaves are heavily rippled, moderately flat and slightly shiny on top. Fragrant, medium purple flowers with lavender stripes bloom from mid-July into August.
 

An article about H. 'Tea at Bettys' by Warren I. Pollock in The Hosta Journal (2011 Vol. 42 No. 1) states that, "...Richard Ford, who confirmed the correct cultivar name is Bettys, the name of a restaurant. So correctly, it's 'Tea at Bettys'..."

In an article in The Hosta Journal (2016 Vol. 47 No 2), the author described this plant's flowers as having a "Weak" fragrance compared to other hostas.
