  Jim Schwarz of 
									Jim's Hostas of Iowa (now owned by 
							Uniquely 
									Hostas of Wisconsin) registered this sport 
				of H. 'Achy Breaky Heart' in 1999. An 
upright growing, small size plant, it grows to 
				one foot in height and a width of 14 inches. The leaves have an 
				o  vate shape, smooth texture and are of average substance. Medium 
				purple flowers bloom in July followed by viable seeds. 
				
				The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
				Diana 
				Grenfell (2009) states: "Site in good light to moderate shade in a 
container, gravel, or rock garden leaving plenty of space to emphasize the 
upright habit of the leaves. Slow to moderate growth rate."
