Hosta 'Windy Daydream'

Registered by Rob Seale of Ohio in 2022, this cultivar is a seedling of  {[("Seale Seedling MC2Red" × H. 'Blue Mammoth') × Unknown] × Unknown} × H. 'Queen of the Seas'. (**For clarity sake, the hostas in Red are the background of the unnamed pod parent and the one in Green is the pollen parent of this cultivar.)

It is a medium size hosta about 18 inches high by 25 inches wide with blue-green foliage that has a yellow medial (center) variegation which turns to white later in the season. The leaves are slightly corrugated, moderately rippled and have strong, striped petioles. White flowers bloom from mid-June into July on scapes up to 25 inches tall followed by viable seeds in pods with purple veining.

The registration materials state: "This medio-variegated cultivar stands out in the garden with its ruffle edged leaves and distinctive color pattern.  Good substance, white flowers and easily sets seed.  2022 Best in Show at Ed Elslager Hybridizing Club contest...Emerges yellow with bright blue margins turning white with dark blue & green tones on the margins."
