				 In order to 
				provide the gardening public with a place to observe and learn 
				about hostas, The American Hosta Society decided to designate 
				National Display Gardens. In 1980, the first one, the 
				University 
				of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum’s Hosta Glade was dedicated. 
				
				There are now 21 such collections. Each garden is designated with a plaque like the ones 
				shown below.
