Although chemical pesticides were traditionally at the top of the list of alternatives for treating landscape plant problems, in recent decades, other options have come to the forefront for many people. They are still a very valid option but it is hoped that gardeners will look increasingly to the other type of non-chemical options.

When the other options prove not effective, chemical alternatives may be needed to save the health or aesthetics of your plants. Whether synthetic or so-called organic, chemical options generally fall into the following categories:
