This cultivar was registered by Eldren Minks of Minnesota in 1980. It resulted from a cross of H. 'August Moon' × H. 'Wogon Gold'. The plant reaches 18 inches in height and forms a mound about 44 inches wide. In early August, it produces pale lavender flowers.

H. 'Winfield Gold' is a similar cultivar.
