Hosta 'Am I Blue'

Dr. Dick and Jane Ward originated this cultivar which they found as a seedling of H. 'Reginald Kaye'. It was registered in 1998 and joins the ranks of large, blue-green hostas, growing 26 to 30 inches high and about 53 inches wide. The plant has thick substance and moderately corrugated leaves. Near white flowers bloom starting in mid-June.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...ranks as an outstanding blue-leaved cultivar with somewhat of an open mound habit."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Site in light to full shade to maintain the wonderful leaf color."
