Hosta 'Back Bay'

This seedling which is descended from H. 'Blue Lace' × H. 'Polly Bishop' is a cultivar from Dr. Kevin Vaughn of Massachusetts that was registered on his behalf by Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. It grows into a large size hosta about 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide with cupped, heavily corrugated leaves that are broadly ovate with a nearly round base. Near white flowers bloom from late June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Its size, substance, foliage color, and plant form make 'Back Bay' an outstanding choice for any shade garden."
