David Stone
originated this cultivar in the 1960s and it was registered by the
American Hosta
Society in 1986. It is a hybrid of
Hosta nakaiana and
Hosta sieboldiana which according to
The Hosta Handbook by
Mark Zilis (2000), "...shows traits of both parents."
This plant forms a large (19 inches high) mound of foliage with a cordate
base and slight corrugation. Clumps of pale lavender flowers
bloom on 34 inch tall scapes.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis
(2009), this cultivar "...shows true hybrid character. The
flowers tend toward Hosta nakaiana while the foliage color and
shape leans toward Hosta sieboldiana."
