Hosta 'Eleanor Lachman'

Wm and Eleanor Lachman of Massachusetts registered this hybrid cultivar in 1995. It is a cross of an unnamed seedling of (H. 'Neat Splash' × H. 'Flamboyant') x H. 'Robert Frost'. The small size mound is 10 inches high and 22 inches wide with lavender flowers in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "This cultivar honors Eleanor Lachman, originator of some of the finest hosta cultivars in existence."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states in its Hosta Hybrids for Connoisseurs chapter: "Site in good light but not hot afternoon sun which can cause "melting out." Slow to increase. A delightful hosta but not always easy to grow."
