This is a non-registered introduction of Van Wade of Ohio which is a sport of H. 'Abiqua Moonbeam'. It forms a large size (20 inches high by 40 inches wide) mound of green leaves with a wide gold margin. Pale lavender flowers are produced from mid-July into August.
 

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The difference in margin width between 'Gemini Moon' and 'Abiqua Moonbeam' is noticeable, even from a considerable distance."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Sometimes throws all-yellow leaves which should be removed to prevent reversion. Grow with ferns or blue-leaved hostas...Leaf color more pronounced and leaf margin wider than its parent. One of the best of the many descendants of H. 'August Moon'."
