Hosta 'Golden Sculpture'

This cultivar of unidentified parentage was registered by Ken Anderson of Minnesota in 1982. The vase shaped mound grows into a giant size hosta about 33 inches in height and 6 feet wide with slightly wavy leaf margins. It bears near white flowers in late June.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The vase-shaped mound habit and bright gold leaf color make 'Golden Sculpture' an ideal specimen or centerpiece plant in the shaded garden."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "H. 'Elegans' hybrid...Winner of the 1991 Alex J. Summers Distinguished Merit Hosta Award...Midrib and veins remain green."

An article by Warren I. Pollock in The Hosta Journal (2014 Vol. 45 No. 2) states that, "H. 'Golden Sculpture', registered by the late Ken Anderson in 1982, is one of the best, large yellow leaved hostas. It makes a majestic specimen."
