Hosta 'Green Marmalade'

Registered by Clarence Owens of Michigan in 1987, this cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Neat Splash' × (possibly) H. plantaginea. This plant forms a large size (23 inches high) mound of shiny, streaked foliage that varies from creamy yellow to white margined with streaked dark green center to dark green centered with a white marginal variegation. Pale lavender flowers open in mid-July to mid-August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...has a lot to offer as a showy specimen plant. The foliage colors are bright, often varying from leaf to leaf and the flowers are produced on scapes that tower above the foliage. Before registration, this was known as 'Marbled Green'."

Looks like the speciman shown above has "stabilized" as a creamy white margined plant.

Looks like the speciman shown above has "reversed" back to an all-green plant.
