Hosta 'Lake Gitchigumi'
 

This cultivar was listed on the Hosta Lists website. Originated by Olga Petryszyn of Indiana, this non-registered cultivar is a seedling of ((H. ‘Sagae’ ื H. ‘Tokudama Aureonebulosa’) ื (H. ‘Sun Power’ ื H. ‘Gold Regal’)) ื (H. ‘Sagae’ ื H. ‘Tokudama Aureonebulosa’). It is a giant size hosta about 28 inches high by 46 inches wide with shiny blue-green foliage. The leaves have a thick white bloom on the bottoms and are slightly seer suckered. Later in the season, the leaf color changes to dark green. Very large white flowers bloom from late July into August.



In the Ojibwe Native American language, Gitchigumi stands for big water.
